Shipwrecks & Archaeology In-Person

Follow along as we discuss Lake Erie Shipwrecks through the lens of the archaeological process. We will also learn what needs to be done to help protect this history. Registration is required for this free program. Please call the library, visit our website, or stop by the front desk.

 

Presenter Bio:

Christopher Gillcrist is Director Emeritus of the National Museum of the Great Lakes in Toledo, Ohio. He has a BA and MA in History from John Carroll University and is ABD in Social Policy at Case Western Reserve University. He has served as Associate Professor of History at Notre Dame College of Ohio and Instructor of History at Ursuline College. Prior to becoming the Executive Director of the Great Lakes Historical Society in 1999, he served as Executive Director of the Lake County Historical Society. Under his leadership, the Great Lakes Historical Society opened the National Museum of the Great Lakes in Toledo, Ohio.
